Our trip for Israel is only a couple days off and I have finally started getting quite excited for it. Don't get me wrong, I have looking forward to this trip since this past summer, but somehow it never felt real. Then today I went shopping for a new bookbag so I can lug around the school's laptop (hopefully a smaller one than what they tried to give us today!). I got that and a few other necessities and I suddenly realized we're going, leaving, flying off, on Saturday! What?!? Insane! So now it's crazy time trying to get everything finished b/f we go, but soon we'll be off and I'm going to leave the stress behind in Louisville.
Some of you who don't know me might be wondering who I am. Well, if you're going on this trip then you will soon learn plenty about me. If you aren't going on this trip, yet you're still reading this, I'm going to assume you know me. If you don't know me and are still reading my posts, you obviously have too much time on your hands! :-P So just in general, I'm a first year (I don't really like calling myself a Junior) at LPTS, originally from NE Ohio. I have a background in archaeology and anthropology as well as religion, so I have many different interests in this trip. The site I am most interested in is Masada, mainly b/c I remember my religion professor in undergrad telling my class about the story of the siege there. I also have a deep interest in all religions and so am interested to encounter many in Israel and see how they attempt to coexist.
Ok, I think that's all for now, b/c as I said, I have tons to do b/f we go and the night is young (ha!) so I still have plenty of time. I have a hard time sleeping on planes, so maybe if I make myself tired enough in the next few days I'll sleep the whole flight...
